Kommentar: Habberton (1842-1921) var en amerikansk forfatter. Dette er hans første skjønnlitterære verk, basert på sønnene sine. Først utgitt anonymt i 1876, som “by their latest victim”. George Orwell skrev om boka i essayet “Good Bad Books”: “the kind of book that has no literary pretensions but which remains readable when more serious productions have perished.” The Royal Series (”Cheap, but tasteful esitions of the old favourite authors.”) Both boards and jacket are beautifully illustrated.
