The Pickwick Papers. With an Introduction by Alec Waugh.

Utgitt: London,
1963
8vo. 796 pp. Publisher’s soft full cloth with plastic jacket in slipcase. Small tears in jacket. Very good. Front board is stamped with “The Old Curiosity Shop” and a picture of the shop by that name in Portsmouth Street in London. Ex libris.
Kommentar: Enclosed is a note “Purchased at The Old Curiosity Shop, immortalised by Charles Dickens.” The shop was there in Dickens time, but named after the publication of the novel. The Pickwick Papers was Dickens’ first novel, serialised between 1836-37, when he was 24 years old.
