Small 8vo. xvi + 243 pp. and iv + 248 pp. Frontisp. + portr. plates. Contemp. boards, paper spine. Printed title on spine. Hinges broken, parts of spines missing. Text block overall good.

Kommentar: During the corrupt government of George III, these anonymous letters were discussing public rights of democratic elections, freedom of the press, legal history and constitutional rights of the individual. The mystery of identity has not really been solved, even if it is widely believed to be Sir Philip Francis.
